[{"text":"#NL#In recent years Doctor Who has made us afraid of statues, shadows, wi-fi and puddles, and now we can add wood panelling to that list. #NL#The story was about Bill and five student friends trying to find a cheap place to live, and ending up in an eerie old house that had more than it's fair share of secrets."},{"spoiler":"Medium"},{"image":[{"src":"gat995421gates.jpg"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":""Knock Knock" was a classic Doctor Who horror story, and has proved to be a big hit with fans of the show. It had the feel of a ghostly tale from M.R. James as the suspense gradually mounted, and became genuinely scary..."},{"image":[{"src":"lic229653lice.jpg"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":"#NL#It started off with the creepy landlord and trees creaking when there was no wind. Soon doors were closing by themselves and people were being pulled into the walls. Special mention to the effects teams, and the splendidly disturbing acting by David Suchet.#NL#If you are feeling very brave there is even a Binaural Mix of the soundtrack on the BBC iPlayer, so you feel like you are actually there in the house!"},{"image":[{"src":"eli29507eliza-an.jpg"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":"#NL#The script had some nice references too; especially Bill referring to The Doctor as her grandfather, and reminders of Harriet Jones and Voc Bots.#NL#The Doctor reveals to Bill that he is a Time Lord, and mentions regeneration (before quickly changing the subject).#NL#The title of the episode is, of course, a reference to the classic joke: Knock Knock\/Who's There\/Doctor\/Doctor Who?\/That's right!"},{"image":[{"src":"mov650676moving.png"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":"#NL#The characterisations of Bill and The Doctor continue to be excellent, and the supporting cast worked well. Although the group of students did seem a bit too perfect. In most student households there seems to be that one person that everybody hates..."},{"image":[{"src":"eli667832eliza-me.jpg"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":"#NL#The story had elements of a classic fairy tale, with Eliza locked away in the tower, although with a clever twist about the Landlord.#NL#Unlike most horror stories this one had a happy ending, like we have seen in other episodes like "Forest of the Dead." It is a family show after all."},{"image":[{"src":"vau354242vault.jpg"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":"#NL#The episode ended with wonderful cameo from Nardole, and more hints about what\/who is in the vault. In a nice tribute to Eliza the piano music was "Fur Elise" by Beethoven. "},{"image":[{"src":"eli47561eliza.jpg"},{"caption":""}]},{"text":"#NL#Did you enjoy being scared by this episode? #NL#Let me know your thoughts in the comments."}]
