[{"text":"Wonder Woman opens tomorrow. Played by Gal Gadot, who made her first Wonder Woman appearance in Batman vs Superman (another movie I have written about). Hype for this movie has been growing since I first heard it was going to be made. My main fuel for wanting to see this has been her appearances in Justice League, Justice League: Unlimited, and her various iterations in connection to Superman."},{"spoiler":"Heavy"},{"video":[{"src":"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8eyvZRtGNNo"},{"caption":"Wonder Woman fight scenes from how I grew up with her"}]},{"image":[{"src":"won45048wonder-w.jpg"},{"caption":"Bronze Age Wonder Woman (Fist pump for victory)"}]},{"text":"This movie finally gave me something I have been internally screaming for since trailers started ruining movies to appeal to fans "need" to see content. The villain, despite fans knowing who he is from the stories and comics; the movie did not ruin his reveal...AT ALL. The trailers depict one actor playing Ares, and the movie TOTALLY flipped it around and surprised me with another character being the real Ares. This made the movie fan inside of me very happy. I do not like too much information being revealed to me before a movie releases."},{"image":[{"src":"won78942wonder-w.jpg"},{"caption":"Ares vs Wonder Woman (Injustice versions I think)"}]},{"text":"Speaking of the Ares reveal, they did a great job in his mid to final battle design while fighting Wonder Woman. At first, the real Ares was human looking and showing off a little bit of his power. That could not be it, no way. Impossible. She pushes him pretty far and he forms his dark armor with the horns. My excitement rose.  He was looking like the Injustice version of Ares. The version I'm most familiar with. THEN, he start materializing dark blades and weapons to launch at her, and I thought, "finally, an accurate representation." Not to say I haven't liked other villains in the DCEU. Ares is just my current favorite. One downside, I don't like villains being killed in their first movie appearance. Ares death (I hope he isn't for sure dead) and General Zod's in Man of Steel disappointed me. Do villains always have to die in their first appearance in movies?"},{"image":[{"src":"won727242wonder-w.jpg"},{"caption":"Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman"}]},{"text":"At first, when news came that Chris Pine was going to be in this movie, I thought he'd take the attention from Gal Gadot. After my viewing of the film, I realized I was mostly wrong. He did not necessarily steal the show, however, in my opinion he did carry the scenes he was in. Similarly to Will Smith playing Deadshot in Suicide Squad. Back to Chris Pine. Steve Trevor is a spy, pilot, soldier from the British military during World War 1. While escaping from the Germans with important intel, he crashes his plane in the waters of Themyscira (The island Wonder Woman hails from). While training, she sees his plane crash and rescues him from being stuck in the plane. Now, the only thing I didn't personally like about Chris Pine's part in the movie was the emphasis on jokes about Diana's view of his genitalia. They repeated different versions of the joke a few times, and I don't personally enjoy that. Besides that one con, Chris Pine did a great job."},{"image":[{"src":"won475491wonder-w.jpg"},{"caption":"Themyscira"}]},{"text":"My quick take on the Amazons in Wonder Woman. Themyscira looked amazing. The Amazons different actresses and warrior fighting style was intriguing. Diana's mother, I thought carried scenes decently. There was one other main Amazon who kept pushing to train Diana, I thought she carried scenes well. Downfalls in this department: The CGI for them fighting was awkward in much of the fight scenes. I'm no expert, but a decent amount has me thinking, "Really DC?" I liked their work put into fight choreography, but certain parts of flips or projectiles pulled me out of the movie. "},{"image":[{"src":"won863231wonder-w.jpg"},{"caption":"Here is our Wonder Woman (Princess Diana) In real life: Gal Gadot"}]},{"text":"I think she is great for the role. I like how she looks fighting as Wonder Woman. I can't imagine another actress filling this role. Her epic moment stepping out into No Man's Land was INCREDIBLE. Her facial expressions in response to men not wanting to accept her made the movie better. When she witnesses the horrors of war first hand and pushes Steve to help her save the people, it looks like she really means it. I think she shines in fighting, and exclaiming. My only negative opinion of her, is that in more quiet toned scenes, she does not seem to know what to do with her facial expression. In a handful of scenes like this her eyes were just wide open. It may just be me. "},{"header":"Final Words"},{"text":"This movie was a great step in the DCEU. Gal Gadot is good as Wonder Woman, not perfect. Villain reveal\/twist was GREAT. Villain being killed in first appearance is disappointing, like with many others in movies. Chris Pine shows his acting experience. Wonder Woman is better in war, against Germans then Captain America (MCU).  I like what they tried creating with this entry in the DCEU. Using this rating system with 10 being the highest. I think Wonder Woman is a solid 8 out of 10. Whether you read this and spoiled parts for yourself, or you don't care, you should definitely go watch it for yourself. I like this direction for superhero movies."}]
